Florida Baptist Children’s Homes
Strengthens Orphan Care in Haiti

Setting up tents, moving rubble, and distributing food in Haiti were not part of the regular duties of Eron Green, who serves as the central division administrator for the Florida Baptist Children’s Homes. Green was one of six administrative staff from the Children’s Homes that took a week off from their regular duties to travel to Haiti in order to help improve the level of care at the Good Rest Mission orphanage along with several orphanages in the Port-au-Prince area. Eagle Scout builds fence

for the Jacksonville campus

Joseph Vaughn
Joseph Vaughn built a 325-foot fence on the Jacksonville campus for his Eagle Scout project.

Joseph Vaughn, in the process of becoming an Eagle Scout, provided the Florida Baptist Children’s Homes’ Jacksonville campus a much-needed fence.

The 57-acre Jacksonville campus includes pastures where the children ride horses. The job of replacing the old wire fence had taken a back seat to other maintenance projects for the 14 buildings and grounds on the campus.

“We had wanted to get this done for a while, and we are so grateful for volunteers like Joseph who step in to do what our maintenance crew didn’t have time to do,” said Randy Harrison, administrator for the Jacksonville campus.

Kids at North Hillsborough Baptist Church in Arcadia presented a check in the amount $1,200 to the Florida Baptist Children’s Homes.

The kids raised the money as part of Vacation Bible School (VBS). The more than 50 children participating in the VBS program picked the Children’s Homes because they loved the concept of Kids Helping Kids.

"God worked in a powerful way during our Vacation Bible School.  The children were really moved to give sacrificially,” said Pastor Ellis Cross.
