Adoptions

Discover the Adoption Option!

It is a joyous occasion when we are able to help a child in need of a family find a permanent Christian family of their own. The Children’s Homes work closely with prospective adoptive parents and orphaned children to help facilitate a smooth transition to the new family arrangement.

Who can adopt?

If you have the ability to love a child and to make a lifelong commitment, then you already meet the basic requirements to adopt. In addition, in order to adopt through the Florida Baptist Children’s Homes we require that you be a professing Christian, be active in a local Christian church, and follow a lifestyle that is consistent with the Christian faith.

How much does it cost?

Fees for adoption services are assessed on a sliding scale based on income. The maximum charge is $15,000 (amount is subject to change). However, the cost to adopt "special needs" children is often considerably less.

In many cases, monetary support is provided by the state to help care for "special needs" children such as monthly financial support, health care through the Medicaid program, and free college tuition at any state university, community college, or vocational school in Florida.
